![]() During this annual festival, they dress up their pups (and themselves!) and compete for a bunch of different awards, including best celebrity costume, best NY-themed costume, and best group costume. You only have to spend a few days in New York to figure out that New Yorkers love their dogs and they love to show off their furry friends. Or better yet, why not don your very own costume and join in! Anyone can walk the parade-you just need to show up at the starting point on Canal St in costume. You can view the parade from both sides of 6 th Ave, but it does get busy (particularly in the West Village) so if you want a prime spot, make sure to get there early. Of all the New York parades, this is definitely the most fun (and yes, I am including the Thanksgiving day parade!) It is held on October 31 st, roughly from 7–9 PM, and runs along 6 th Ave from Canal Street up to 15 th Street. She is also member of the National System for Artistic Creators in Mexico (SNCA). Mariana Villanueva has received the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Award The Mexico/ USA Rockefeller, Fonca/ Bancomer Prize and a CONACYT PHD scholarship to work in the life and music of Julian Orbón, out of which she published a book about his life and music: El latido de la ausencia. The way to a transcendent world through the music is the path of this composer. Such a treasure can be revealed in dreams, symbols, myths, and art. Through her creative process, she tries to reach the very depths of our inner world in search of an ancestral knowledge of universal nature. Music as a highly spiritual activity is at the core of Mariana Villanueva´s music.
